The Air Jordan 22 (XX2 or XXII) 5/8 Low - White / University Blue - Orange Blaze were released on July 21, 2007, and retailed for $125. They feature a mostly white color scheme, along with a silver secondary color, and the smallest hint of orange and university blue accents. They are modeled directly after the F-22 Raptor Strike Fighter. When you look at the F-22 Raptor you see the light camo spots and sharp aerodynamic cuts that can cut through the air like ice. Some of these characteristics of the F-22 can be seen on the Air Jordan 22 (XXII). The chrome, diamond - shaped heel counter provides sturdiness, and adds more support to the ankle, while trying to prevent any sort of roll or sprain. The leather upper features slits across the side panels, which act as a ventilation system, allowing the foot to breathe a bit more easily. The clear rubber outsole is always a nice touch, but also provides plenty of traction, allowing for hard cuts to the basket, as well as sudden stops. The fact that the sole comes up around the sides and front allows the wearer to pivot much more easily.
